The History and Spirit of Langar-e-Rasool (SAWW)

The tradition of Langar began over fourteen centuries ago in the blessed era of Rasool Allah ﷺ. In the early days of Madina, the Prophet ﷺ personally ensured that no individual—poor, traveler, orphan, widow, or stranger—slept hungry. Food was distributed freely, with dignity, compassion, and equality. This was not charity; it was a Sunnah built on mercy and humanity.

This sacred practice continued through the noble Ahl-e-Bait (AS), who devoted their lives to feeding the poor, supporting the oppressed, and upholding justice. From Imam Ali (AS) feeding entire communities at night without revealing his identity, to Bibi Fatima (SA) giving away her own food even in hardship—this tradition became a symbol of love for mankind.

Today, FMS Welfare Trust carries forward this blessed legacy through our Langar-e-Rasool (SAWW) Food Drive, ensuring that those struggling with hunger, poverty, and crisis receive nourishment with dignity.

Feeding the Hungry. Restoring Dignity. Continuing a Sunnah.

Hunger is one of the most painful hardships a human being can face. In many cities and villages, families spend entire days without a proper meal. Parents skip food so their children can eat. Widows, orphans, daily-wage workers, and elderly individuals suffer in silence—often too ashamed to ask for help.

Through Langar-e-Rasool (SAWW), FMS Welfare Trust provides consistent meals and ration support to the most vulnerable. Each plate of food carries not just nourishment—but hope, compassion, and the continuation of a Sunnah that changed the world.

Our Langar program supports:

  • Daily cooked meal distribution to laborers, homeless individuals, and struggling families
  • Monthly ration packs for widows, orphans, and low-income households
  • Special Langar during Muharram, Ramadan, Ashura, and Milad-un-Nabi
  • Food support for hospital attendants caring for sick loved ones
  • Emergency food drive for households facing sudden crises or unemployment
  • Community-wide food distribution in poverty-stricken areas

For countless families, these meals are the only source of nourishment they receive all day. Your support ensures that no child sleeps hungry, no mother cries silently over empty utensils, and no elderly person is forgotten.

Together, we are continuing the Sunnah of Rasool Allah ﷺ — one meal, one family, one act of compassion at a time.
